So, as much as I love finding people and doing background checks, and as nice as it is to be in one place for days, and even weeks at a time, I have to say sometimes I miss traveling. My friend Lila just got back from Italy, and I'm soooo jealous! She managed to snag a few days there, and while she was there, she met someone! A fellow tourist, and she's totally gaga about him. So I used this cool find people site to look him up for her--and total bummer! He's married! I don't know what to tell her. Maybe I'll just push how hard long distance relationships are--that's why my ex and I had to call it off. Or maybe I should tell her I didn't have time and let her find him herself? I hate being the bearer of bad news...
Meanwhile, I've been running background checks on all the employees I'm responsible for, and that includes Marketing Guy. I'm pretty nervous to look him up, and have put him on the bottom of my list. Things have just been going so well with him! We're pretty much dating now, but totally on the down low. On one hand, it's really exciting, but on the other, really
frustrating! I mean, I work with him so I should get to see him all the
time, but because of this stupid policy, we have to go out of our way
to avoid each other. Now I have to plan my route around the office to make sure I don't run into him too often, and we have to stagger our lunches so that people won't think we're meeting up on them (which we totally are...okay, so that part is actually really hot). Anyway, found this cool search people site I wanted to share with you all. It was a good distraction while I put off the inevitable...what if Marketing Guy isn't who he says he is? This is why you should always do background checks before you fall for someone....
I am really liking working in HR. Especially doing background checks and people searches on potential candidates. It really cuts out the riff raff! And let me tell you, there is a lot of riff raff out there! So many people lie on their resumes it's crazy, well I guess not that crazy I lied on mine and that's how I got the job I'm at now, but I got lucky that the person who hired me was not as savvy as I am when it comes to finding out about people and doing background checks. OMG! So me and the guy from marketing went to lunch the other day. He said he had some HR questions for me and asked if he could take me to lunch for my time...umm hmm he is crushing on me too! I knew it! Lunch was great, I didn't eat though because I was so nervous, but the conversation and connection we had was out of this world. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole time. We could have stayed there all day talking, BUT UGH we had to get back to the office. He also mentioned that he knows the company has a "no dating" policy and that I am the HR person, but that he can't control how he feels and invited me to dinner Friday night. HR who? What? I said yes! I'm the HR person who will know? Anyway jobs come and go, but not the possibility of meeting your potential soul mate!
Here are some site to finding people, or if your like me you'll find love People Records Love is in the air, when I was people finding I found this site and all this girl talks about is her wedding, and before that would annoy me, but now I am all over it I know I am going to marry marketing man, he's my Mr. Big Address Search

What a crazy month! I started my new job. I broke up with my boyfriend (or rather he broke up with me, but whatever - I was thinking the same thing, I just didn't have the guts to do it). I have been going out a lot now that I'm actually in town all the time. And... I have a huge crush on this guy in marketing. I don't want anything to happen because we're not allowed to date people at work, but can I just say that having a work crush makes going to work a WHOLE lot more interesting? I find myself choosing my route around the building when going from one place to another completely and totally optimized to run into him as often as possible. It's sort of ridiculous... but it's also really fun. I hope it lasts! In other news, I haven't had too much time for finding people online this month, but I have been doing background checks... for work... non stop. It's really fascinating. There was this one guy that currently works at the BBC2, and we were having such a nice chat about how he's into people finding too, but then I did a background check for him, and it was like "EW!" You have three DUIs, buddy! We can't hire you! It's weird because he had to know that we would check... and we would find it too, being a fellow people searcher, but he didn't mention it. I just don't get people sometimes. Anyway, as you can (or maybe can't see) - I snuck in some links to some cool and helpful people search sites that I think you all might like. If you aren't into people searching, visit this site and laugh and laugh and laugh about this dinner party guest list. I certainly did.
What's up, world? I am back from my vacation, and I actually have some news otherwise! I came back and found out that the head of HR had quit, and then to my surprise, they asked me if I wanted the job. Of course I said yes because then I can use all my great people finding skills in my profession! So... I'm pretty stoked. That said, I have been doing a lot of background checks lately, and reading a LOT of resumes. I feel like I want to write a book on how to avoid writing a bad resume. It's like people are clueless sometimes. It makes me sad because I'm sure they're nice people... but if they can't even talk about themselves in print intelligently, how am I supposed to trust them to work in this company and do a good job? Right? Anyway... I have some new sites for you all, which is (i know) the reason a lot of you come visit so I don't want to let you down! The first one is about (surprise, surprise) background checks, and the second is actually a myspace page that someone sent to me in place of their "online portfolio." Can you imagine!! I know it's mean, but I thought you might get as much of a laugh out of it as I did... and they'll never be the wiser. ;) By for now, all!
Hello all! I'm finally on a vacation. I am currently writing to you from my boyfriend's computer. He, unfortunately, still has to work so I am stuck waiting for him to get home. But it's fine, I haven't just lounged around in a long time. Plus this gives me time to surf the net and see what's new in people searching. I'm a member of a few social networks to keep in touch with people, but sometimes, I want a more in depth search. They have new people search engines that are really focused on finding people, and not just general search, like Yahoo!. Spock is a new one that is going to be awesome when it is all done. I have found another site that someone has put up that is helpful when finding people online. Here is my suggestions!
Hope that helps! I'm off to take a nice hot bath!
Hey, Lori here again! I only have a couple hours until I have to board my plane again. Next stop, Paris!!! I can't wait. I've really been craving crepes. But, it's a long flight, and it can get really exhausting. Plus, I haven't seen my boyfriend in a week and a half! My schedule got messed up this round because I helped a friend out by switching a little. Since I haven't been able to see him, on my breaks I people search! I like to find people I've met on my stops, but forgot to get their info, which happens all the time. Since I've been people searching so much, I have come across some cool blogs and sites. I thought I'd be kind and post them for you.
Finding People
People Search Blog
Giant Lists
I found that last one while looking up people search info, and it is so funny. It has a couple lists that pertain to people searching, which is why I found it. But seriously check it out. Ok, I gotta write some emails before I head out. Au revoir!!
Hello everyone! My name is Lori, and this is my first blog... so I guess I should tell you a little about me to begin with. I'm a flight attendant, which is great because I'm in a long distance relationship, but it's not too bad because I get to see my boyfriend all the time thanks to my flight schedule. Cool, huh? I'm pretty much your average twenty something other than that. I love music, and I love going to live shows. I'm lucky because I get to see so many in so many different cities (when I'm not too tired from flying, lol). Speaking of different cities, I meet friends all over the place. It's great! Sometimes though, numbers get lost in bags (or wherever they get lost in), and in the past, I would just think "Oh well - there goes that cool person from my life forever." Now though, I never have to lose anyone! (Unless I want to, lol!) Thanks to these cool public search / people finder search engines, you can find anyone you want online at almost any time. You can do people searches, background checks or even search for unlisted numbers (a real life-saver for me). It's awesome. I'm going to write more about my journeys soon... but now I must go fly. ;)
